Apologies is this has been posted already but have just read that Michel Roux has died at the age of 78.
Michel Roux, OBE, also known as Michel Roux Snr., was a French-born chef and restaurateur working in Britain.

He was the father of chef Alain Roux and brother of Albert Roux, whose son is Michel, Jr. (host of Masterchef, the Professionals).
Michel, Sr. and Albert opened La Gavroche in the late 60s, influential on modern restaurant cookery in the UK.
