Seems some are being selfish and greedy to me. I saw all the shelves were empty in Waitrose where the toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and tissues are normally kept.also all the semi skimmed milk had gone, I had to buy 'milk' that was made out of oats. There did seem to be plenty of tin food available though. I can see a lot of people going short of their essentials.

were there big queues in asda bobbi? i ask because im trying to review my online order with ocado for tomorrow, and ive been put in a virtual queue just to get on the website
Much as it will irritae the predominantly Tory Ab membership, I'm afraid it all started with "There's no such thing as Society" from Margaret Thatcher. That combined with her rampant Yuppy me-me-me followers set the rot going, and no Government since has made any effort to change it.

This attitude brought the country to its knees in 2008, but still we didn't learn. 9 years of Austerity with the rich screwing the poor and decimating the Welfare State didn't help, because this "I'm all right Jack" attitude now permeates further throughout the population - Greed rules OK.

Left Wing politics is often labelled as the politics of Envy, but Right Wing politics of Greed becomes de rigeur.
Canary - very observant.
The bible describes people, (the heart), as essentially evil, from selfishness to Auswitch, the full spectrum, the bible is right.
I went to the supermarket yesterday and bought 20 quiches, 80 sausage rolls, 40 scotch eggs and 60 French Fancies.

I got confused and was picnic buying.

On a serious note, the people that are losing their minds and panic buying are, for want of a better expression, f......g imbeciles.

Yes there was queues ( said by a third party as I haven’t been out ) :0(
I think it's a survival instinct, Bobbi.

Maybe Lcg but my mind goes to those who are infirm and maybe have to go online to get their shopping, but if the shelves are emptying at an alarming rate, they won’t get it

Ohhh Nooo, what will you do ?
I'm not sure it's selfish. When you see people with loads of bread and loo roll you really don't know how many people live in the same household. I have 4 adults living here permanently and another 3 visiting daily, and then we have visitors and the kids friends. That's a lot of people, a lot of loo roll. Also I make their lunches so if I'm making sandwiches that's a lot of bread.
^^^it's not selfish. And, instead of the negatively-loaded media expression "panic-buying", you use the term "sensible forward-planning"....it seems the way to go.
"Why Are People So Damn Selfish?" - because 50% of people are thick and 50% of them are thicker than that. put simply, most people are morons.
I haven't bought anything extra so far but I'm always stocked up 'just in case'

Haha 3 Ts if there’d been another BA you’d have got it
we just ordered our usual stuff for delivery this week and most of it turned up anyway.
Only 2 items were missing off mine but one of those was live mussels so that doesn't count.

And I’m shopping as I always have , nothing different here
Maybe these people are being selfless and shopping not just for themselves but for their vulnerable friends, family and neighbours who are unable to shop for themselves.
When you've got Boris racing round for beds and ventilators, what does one expect. As norm the media making it worse as regards supermarkets.
