If Boris in his best Churchillian way has declared war on the virus, pulling out all the stops, then we need the true community spirit of WW2,
emulate that fantastic generation in any way we can.
So, how about sleeping in underground railway stations, gathering around the piano and singing Knees Up Mother Brown, and forming a Dads Army and revitalise the heroines of Jam And Jerusalem.
Any other suggestions for what measures we can take, gladly appreciated.

The acronym F.A.N.Y. stands for First Aid Nursing Yeomanry of which the late Countess of Snowdon, HRH Princess Margaret ,was their patron.
An organisation of young ladies who initially carried out volunteer nursing duties and ambulance driving during war time. Later on during the 2nd World War some were recruited into the SOE and parachuted into occupied Europe.
There is a stained glass window in the church in Kensington Square, South Kensington dedicated to the FANY's as they were known by most. :-)
