Saturday jobs

Right then.. I'm 14 and looking for a saturday job but no one seems to want me.. I'm polite, well spoken and reliable. I had one person that told me to go in and fill in an aplication form but when she saw I had no qualifications (bear in mind I'm 14!!) she told me to go as she had no work for me!
others are telling me to drop a CV in but I don't have one. Can anyone help me? x

Unfortunately for you, there is a myth that all fourteen-year-olds are unemployable.

You could make a start trawling around your local shops. Take a brief CV and provide a couple of references and see if they'll keep your name on record if they have no work for you. Try the local market traders as well. It's hard work, and they're always on the lookout for someone who can stay the distance.

Get a couple of books from the library and learn how to write a CV, then create one. It's not hard to do and it's never too early to start.

try going to work in a cafe, they usually dont mind about age or qualifications.

I'm 15 and my friends have worked at pubs/restaurants (washing pots and waiting on) since they were about 14. Also one of my mates works at a car lot washing the cars at weekends.There isn't really a lot of choice however if you just ask around a lot then eventually you should find something.

If you still have no luck then when you do work experience in year 10, maybe think about going somewhere where you may stand a chance of getting a job. Thats what I did.

Its the same for my 16 yr old sister she struggled for months to find a job, she got one a couple of weeks ago. Although it doesnt pay money it might be worth doing some charity work, that way your helping others and your getting relevant experience and pretty much all work experience looks good on a c.v - that way you can get the experience and still look for a job in the mean time. Would look good on you for trying so hard to 'get out there' - should work in your favour. Good Luck

hi. best advice i can give is keep your ears open and be willing to try nejob. do a thorough sweep of your local area by going into shop/ business absoulutely anything - u' d be surprised.
newspaper round/babysitting/cafe-restaurant/pet sitting/odd jobs/
with ur polite, reliable nature u will inturn find a job!! god luk!
