I heard a noise outside early this morning, got out of bed, looked out the window and there was a magpie tapping on the glass. Is it a harbinger of doom or did it see its reflection?

Barry it was probably just pecking a grub off your window bless.
I hear noises all the time in my garden through the night. Birds, foxes, squirrels, I hope. Squealing and screeching sometimes, some nice, some not. Fascinating.

So THAT's what happened to the sparrows. Can't remember when I last saw one.

ladybirder, we get a lot of wildlife in our garden and the field beyond, it's just magpies that give me the willies.
