Find Cheer In Your Tear

I know life seems rough today
But there’s always tomorrow
Find hope in what you dismay
Do not bind yourself to sorrow

Find strength inside your tears
Formed from heartfelt compassion
Wisdom gained from many years
Of moments birthed in passion

Find cheer in the revelation
That hope prevails over despair
That life presents celebration
In this existence that we share

Find solace in your soul
That you are so unique
Faith be the golden rule
When happiness you seek

Morning Joy
Claude McKay - 1889-1948

At night the wide and level stretch of wold,
Which at high noon had basked in quiet gold,
Far as the eye could see was ghostly white;
Dark was the night save for the snow’s weird light.

I drew the shades far down, crept into bed;
Hearing the cold wind moaning overhead
Through the sad pines, my soul, catching its pain,
Went sorrowing with it across the plain.

At dawn, behold! the pall of night was gone,
Save where a few shrubs melancholy, lone,
Detained a fragile shadow. Golden-lipped
The laughing grasses heaven’s sweet wine sipped.

The sun rose smiling o’er the river’s breast,
And my soul, by his happy spirit blest,
Soared like a bird to greet him in the sky,
And drew out of his heart Eternity.
The Promise

Stay, I said
to the cut flowers.
They bowed
their heads lower.

Stay, I said to the spider,
who fled.

Stay, leaf.
It reddened,
embarrassed for me and itself.

Stay, I said to my body.
It sat as a dog does,
obedient for a moment,
soon starting to tremble.

Stay, to the earth
of riverine valley meadows,
of fossiled escarpments,
of limestone and sandstone.
It looked back
with a changing expression, in silence.

Stay, I said to my loves.
Each answered,
Always.

Sat here feeling bored, I came over all Pam Ayres.

Locally, people have been going mad about the amount of stupid youths, all meeting up of an evening, ignoring all advice and putting not only themseves, but also their families at risk of death.

I would like to dedicate this to all the idiots who think this is not serious and continue to meet up in groups with their mates.

TEN LITTLE FLINTIES

10 little Flinties, some lived below the line, 1 went the Castle with his mates, then there were 9.

9 little flinties who hung round with their mates, they all met up in Church st, then there were 8.

8 little Flinties, who stayed out til eleven, they stayed out late, with all their mates, now there's only 7.

7 little Flinties, with i phones, taking pics, of all their mates, they think they're great, they've now dropped down to 6.

6 little Flinties so glad to be alive, they met up outside Tesco's, now there's only 5.

5 little Flinties outside the Library door, meet up in town and act like clowns, then there were 4.

4 little Flinties out on a shopping spree, with their mates for fags and booze, now there's only 3.

3 little Flinties with not a lot to do, met their mates in Albert Park, their number dropped to 2.

2 little Flinties who couldn't stay at home, hung around Flint High School, now there's just one, alone.

1 little Flintie, his mates have gone, they died. Wished he'd listened to Boris, and stayed at home, inside.

By Sparkles.
