I've always had my W7 updates set to let me know when there's something ready to download, rather than to download automatically. With the final few updates, I tried to install them several times but repeatedly got failures. (I tried all of the suggestions online for dealing with such problems but to no avail).
Now I simply ignore the repeated prompts to update and I suggest that you do the same. (The vast majority of Windows updates relate to things that the average home user never uses anyway).
If the updates are trying to download automatically, I suggest going into your update settings and disabling all updates. If you're concerned that your Intel graphics driver might not be up to date, you can get any available updates directly from Intel:
