Keep hearing about how the (upcoming) summer and warmer weather will start to kill off this virus.
Just interested in how equatorial countries are doing then? Is there no virus there?
Conversely, are colder climates more affected?
Any info appreciated, thanks.

It's only guesswork at the moment as to whether there will be any weather related improvement.

Since the virus flourishes at body temperature (37C), I don't understand how warm weather (say 25-30C) will see it off.
Pretty Toasty in Oz and Africa. They are not Scot Free. E-Bola virus was mainly confined to the African continent I believe . The sunny hot weather didn't appear to eliminate that bug. :-(
They got it in Jamaica and beaches closed to public!

So the Great British Summer aint going do jack then?
It'll make us feel a bit better, to see some sunshine.
Nailit ,I am thinking colder climate, but we are both guessing . who really knows ?.
I don't think the intention was that it would kill the virus, more that the health service is less busy with winter flu etc, so will cope better with the pandemic. That's how I understood it.
The only bit of advice I keep reading, is to build up your immune system, i.e. Vit C, D

Was hoping there would be some stats about. Never hear much about covid from African countries.

Vit C, no problem. Eat an orange
Vit D, need sunlight. Advice is to stay indoors. Problem!
(Especially if you dont have a garden, as I havnt)
I suspect the the boffins know and I think they have said no....
nailit, stick your arms or a leg out of an open window
good point
if it is that bad being hot how come it is in Africa ?

it based on the kinda flu is a winter virus thing - BUT I thought that was because cold weather changed peoples behaviour

Oh Africa - well funny you said that
When I was in Luxor - last week in Feb 20 we had no restrictions but the staff seemed a little hesitant and the guide baggered orf a day early ! 'I liverin Luxor' - and then we heard they all knew that there was an ill boat ( Asarah ) a week before we did Mar 7
They did nothing of course - it WAS Egypt

and now they have a curfew in Luxor 7 pm to 6 am = which is kinda the coolest period. I am not sure if any holiday maker is stuck there
