Took delivery of my online Tesco shop earlier and was taken aback when I opened the box of eggs as they were all white! It's years since I saw a white egg and somehow, they just don't look as appealing as nice brown ones.Is there any difference in the taste and have any of you seen white eggs lately?

//All the blue shells mean is that a pigment from the liver has bled into the eggshell in early development//

Bought a 12 pack in the Co op couple of days ago, all white and no difference in taste at all.
How re those lovely dogs of your Baldric? All OK?
I like blue eggs
Polly, yeah you're right, they're one of a few breeds that lay blue eggs, but it can be my one too it seems!

Hi Lb, yes they're both good for now, Roger the Staffie is looking a bit old, we're not sure how old he is as we took him in as a stray with no information on his background at all. Bruno the Rottie/Staffie X is coming up for 6, is fit as a fiddle, very tactile and asleep on my feet at the moment.
I buy old cotswold legbar eggs. They are blue and very tasty, also they seem to keep longer than cheaper eggs do.
AuntPolly - would you boil them or poach them? Maybe an omelette?
Depends if you like 'eggy' eggs. If I had to use them I would make an omelette with bacon and cheese.
Omelette it is then; with wild mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and cheese.
Glad to hear that Baldric. Long may it continue. x
Ummm, I hope you enjoyed your goose eggs.
I love them. Can’t get them vet often.
I eat them fried or scrambled.
