If you send out emails to a number of people using CC's, and you have clicked hide, can the receivers open the CC's?

Not sure what you mean bu "clicked hide" - perhaps thats specific to your email programme.

What I think you mean is send an email to multiple people but not reveal all names to everybody else. If so you need to use the BCC option - "Blind Carbon Copy" - everybody will get the email but it won't say who it was sent to.

Thanks for that, I'll check it out.

OK. I had a go at this. I put my emails into the 'to;' line, the BCC symbol was at the r/hand side, so I clicked that and another line opened up with BCC on it, so I entered them again in that. So not being sure, I took them out of the first line, but when I clicked send, it would not, saying put an address in, which I presume was the top line (first line). So, because I did not want the emails to be shown, and I wasn't sure about sending, I decided to send individually. But, I would like to know the correct procedure for the next time. Thanks.
That's what BCC (as opposed to cc) means- everyone on the BCC gets it but can't see the names on the BCC list. You need to put someone in the TO section though- you could just put yourself or if the name of the main recipient
