This could also be said of either of the other two high profile people that had to resign, and all of the thousands of people that have been issued fines for breaching lockdown rules.
Do you think those people should get their jobs back and the others all be refunded their fines as well?
People have been prevented from attending funerals or being allowed to say goodbye to terminally ill family members because of these rules.
He made the decision to break the rules - that's fair enough, in his position I may even have done the same. But, having been caught breaking the rules he should be prepared to face the consequences.
