I think it is well done, but I'm not much of a fan really. I thought kevin Spacey was singularly unconvincing as Lex Luthor - trying to be under-stated mennace, and failing miserably.
I thought the opening (up until we get to modern day Metropolis) was all over the place. Then the middle section is absolutely rip roaring entertainment. Then the ending was agin all over the place. But then again there are many really interesting plot threads left open, which really makes me look forward to a sequel.
(It's pretty difficult to talk about with out giving away any plot spoilers)
Yeah it was BORING! I felt sorry for the little kids, who musta wondered why their folks had dragged him to see a superhero film about a superhero who doesn't do anything for 2 hours then gets a bit poorly. Honestly, this film was a major disappointment. The mistake they made was making it a "chick flick".
So its understood that most of you wentto see some other variation of Superman Returns, the film is totally new and very unlike the past films. This new way of making him more human is a great idea and gives him depth rather than just saving people.
Bryan Singer and crew have done a marvelous job in reviving the franchise and it is only to re-introduce the character back to the world. When he is back in2009 it will be alot more action based for people who have trouble understanding links to the old films and comics like some of you must have.
Can I just let you all know that my other half has answered these questions under my username and I do not have the same opinions as him although I did really enjoy the flick I am not a fan like him. Thanks just thought Id put the record straight, so the above mentioned was not my opinion loulou32 x and now im going to smack his a$$
