What do you all feel about this guy? For those who have not been following the news, he is the one tried to kill himself and his kids by jumping off the balcony of his holiday hotel with his kids in his arms. He has killed his son but he and his daughter survived the fall. Whilst I think that the act of committing suicide and trying to take your innocent kids who have every right to live their lives, is the ultimate in selfishness and truly evil to do this to their wife/husband/partner, I still cannot help but feel some compassion for him. He now wants to kill himself as he hates himself so much for what he has done. He is now facing a murder charge, unless he manages to kill himself first. What a sad, sad story. And how do some people seemingly suffer such depression that they see this as the only way out? It seems that his side of the family had major depression problems as (I believe) two of his brothers also committed suicide. What brings people to want to do this? I want to really hate this man for what he has done to his wife who now has to try to pull her life back together and of course for his and her family who will be suffering, BUT I do feel sorry for him. By the way it has been reported that his wife still has love for him and is supporting him in a manner. Does anyone else agree or disagree with my thoughts. By the way, can we please have a reasoned discussion in your responses to this? I have been reading a few threads that people who disagree with the poster, are letting their anger colour their responses and it destroys any proper debate as the arguement that follows get in the way of the original question! I am interested to hear your thoughts on this one!

I agree that constantly attacking each other, whoever is in the right does not solve anything, especially since you have all come up with some really good posts on my question!
I suppose asking you to kiss and make up is out of the question then!!!

Hi Sue. I don't know Whiffey at all - only what I have read on here but people can be anyone they choose to be so no-one REALLY knows anyone - unless of course they happen to know them in the flesh of course. I have never lied about anything about myself on here - don't see the point personally but as no-one on here (apart from my friends and family who also use the site) really know me , you would never really know if I had been lying. In saying that though , my posts are consistent because they are truthful. When someone lies - and especiallty when they post a lot of answers - there is always the danger that they will forget their lies and usually trip themselves up in the end. I bear no ill will towards Whiffey and actually find a lot of what he/she says amusing. I am a bit baffled by WMs accusations of being a paedophile because I have never read anything which Whiffey has posted to that effect and that's a bit of a full on accusation. Where does that come from WM ? Is it becasue of Whiffey's conflicting posts re gender ?

I'm not jumping on the hate bandwagon Boo so I hope you don't think that. My post was just in jest because I had remembered seeing different answers. I think that Whiffey is on a wind up - not out to cause harm.

Oh and Whiffey , you still haven't really answered my question !

Hi Ward Minter, I realised that my kiss and make up question had a certain amount of irony after I read your other post! I am not going to judge as I do not know the story behind this, all I can do is to treat each response in the appropiate manner as I get it to the questions I post, appreciate that you may have reason to hate Whiffey or you may not!
Hi Neenee! You are very welcome to air your views, that is what I asked for! As I said I read that the wife claimed he was not drunk, but obviously you have a another version of the story. I suppose eventually what really happened will come out that is if we all read the same newspaper!

Wardy I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you have evidence that Whiffey is as you say that you must take it to the appropriate authorities, until you do you're putting more children at risk, if indeed it's true. Can you live with that?

i just think that sue has asked a really interesting question and as such deserves answers which stick to the point. Using it to bait another member is downright selfish.

Hi Enigma, yes I agree with you there. I had a boss who constantly lied and was always tripping himself up as he forgot what he said to who. It was extremely funny comparing stories with others and gave us a lot of fun! Yes I am slightly worried about Ward Minter's accusations and Ward Minter please please be careful about what you say about others in print! I am not saying you are wrong, but it is dangerous to put that kind of thing in print!! Please take this the right way, it is not me being critical!!

Whiffey - You haven't done anything to me and have always been very pleasant in your exchanges with me on various threads so I have no gripe with you. I take people as I find them and until they do wrong by me , I try to always treat people with the same respect which I would expect.

WM - Please excuse my naivety here (I'm not clued up on how paedophiles groom children *shuddering at the thought*) but how would anyone be able to do that if no exchange of email has been given ? I know that some people give out email addys but if they didn't , then how would that be possible ? 32 Aliases ? How do you know that though ? Do you know Whiffey ?

Too want to kill your own children has to mean that you are either incredibly wicked or incredibly ill I think. Im not sure what my feelings are but refusing his own life now isn't going to help bring his son back and seems as though he just wants it over with. I do think though if he is suicidal then why kill the children too? That doesn't make much sense to me, if any of this does really. I must say his wife standing by him makes me question more, if I had children and my husband did this he wouldn't be refusing treatment they would be body bagging him.
