My WiFi’s started struggling - wheel keeps going round & ‘no Internet’ message keeps coming up on my iPad. Is it worth buying a signal booster? & if so, do I just plug it into a plug point ? Tia
alavahalf's suggestion is good but it wouldn't work in my house at all because of the way my house is wired.
You can buy signal boosters that just plug in to a socket and beam the signal further away. Like this one Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
But nothing will make any difference if you get a good connection when your iPad is close to the router
Having used the BT ones in the link for around 5 years now and have one on each floor. They give me good WiFi all round the house and even at the end of the garden.
They also give you the option of plugging in an ethernet cable if you need a hardwire. I have one fitted in a conservatory, which supplies an output for a smart TV as well as wifi for the garden..
Prior to installing them I just blamed the router for the bad signal. Still using the same Sky router as I was years ago and have no issues with the WiFi.
Before you do any of the above, try simply removing the power to your router, waiting a couple of minutes and then powering it up again. It's amazing how often that works!
If that doesn't help though, your next move should be to try changing th channel used by your router. (If you need instructions, please provide the make and model details).
