pubs reopening 0600 etc. Got all the shopping done late afternoon, Dave booked me a wheelchair, then he pushed me and I pushed the trolley, bit like wagon train, it worked ok. Have everything we need until next Friday so if it all goes daft we can stay away from it. Will be interesting to see what happens. We all think it's happening too early.

From my dealings with the general public I believe too much trust is put in the 'common sense' of some of joe public. Boris has more faith than I do that alcohol and the need for social mixing is a good cocktail at this early stage. I enjoy socialising in the pub with my pals as well as the next man but they can wait as long as beer etc is available in the supermarkets. Just thank our lucky stars that unlike South Africa and another country we can still buy alcohol at all during lockdown. My socialising will be confined to my garden on a fine day without the restrictions that have been imposed in a pub.
And mine, not interested in the pub scene now
Same here Tashi. We've done our shopping, been for a walk on the beach, called into the bank, artshop and bookshop. We will go to the local shop in the morning for some newspapers and milk, and then stay home for the whole weekend. Plenty to do in the garden or studio.

However, I do hope the tourists come and people spend their money locally as we need the business. We just ask them to stary safe and have some respect. Do we think that is possible? LOL

Stay, not stary.

I must agree - although my dealings with the inebriated public has come from gigs, and work in nightclubs and on disco parties, but assuming a level of common sense when alcohol is involved is a dodgy position to take.

There will be a lot of giddy nonsense, and the A & E's will be full - again.

Maybe someone will actually analyse the connection between overstretched A & E's and the timings of excess alcohol consumption.

And having analysed it, and realised that alcohol is firmly embedded in our cultural fabric, and addressing curbs is political suicide, they will quietly forget all about it again.
I think anyone going along to pubs at the moment are mad! I'd far rather wait several weeks to see how things pan out and see if it's working or not, and this from someone who loves a good pub lunch!

I agree.
^ Me too.
