Ebay Listings

I am curious about the recent increase in the habit of some sellers listing an item with the description bearing no resemblance to the item being sold. For instance, recently a seller put up a model aircraft aircraft kit in the heading, which is normally under £20.00 new, but the picture showed a TV desktop box with the price tag of £200.00, followed by its description in the body of the auction page. When I asked the seller what one had to do with the other, the reply was that it was an incomplete listing.
What's that all about? Am I missing something? I've been buying and selling on eBay for many years with hardly any problem but if I'm selling something, I ensure that the picture/description matches the item described in the heading. If, after listing, I notice an error or I want to add some information, I immediately revise accordingly and relist. Job done!

If eBay offer free or cheaper listings on certain days you often see this. Sellers grab the 'slot' and put up any old rubbish just to get the deal with the intention of properly revising the listing when they've got the time. It's a money saving exercise.
