Gyms are now allowed to open along with social distancing in place, this involves some of the equipment, being spaced out, and some in between not to be used, but is that really going to work, when we are told that droplets of the virus can carry in the air from nose and mouth. Someone exercising will inhale and exhale way beyond normal. Does this not just make distancing a bit silly.

The handling of the pandemic had been ok-ish, given the lack of past experience to draw on, at least in England, until recently when a mixture of relaxation of the rules and new unreasonable restrictions and demands were brought into play. It's become rather farcical since. It's as if government is scared to try to return to normal and has panicked.

Well I really think OG has hit the nail on the head, They are losing sight of the real problem areas, and are just implementing rules willy nilly, just to be seen has doing something.
Local garden centre. Mask must be worn as one enters shop. Walk into huge cafe area, people everywhere, no masks required. After tea and cake, don mask to leave shop. Cafe close proximity, shop plenty of space.
It aint easy eating and drinking with a mask on. At least with tables they can set the layout to meet social distancing. One option would be to close the cafes but then most people wouldn't bother going to the garden centre
They've dropped the scattergun approach to reopening of businesses in favour of the scatterbrain one.

no it doesnt actually

but I admire your pzazz in following instructions and also wondering it that particular activity is GOOD and another is a waste of time

yes we are told various things
but is it borne out by observation?

500 000 people thronged (thronged and thrutched and .....) Bournemouth a few weeks ago and there has been NO spike
so wivva experiment of n = 500 000 - it looks as tho fresh air no distancing AND SUN ( probably important ) there is no infection and it is safe

the sweatshops of Leicester and abattoirs everywhere have had spikes - conclude - sweat shops no ventilation and or animal products ( uncooked ) probably keep away from

oh and if you are using a gym
you are very likely to be under 50
and the mortality under 50 is piffle

I agree

if they had said - Covid is a mild SARS and the old are all gonna DDDIIIIEEEE !
I wd have said - are you sure about that ? hold on .... etc

but it is - for the english and asians
There are anomalies occurring right and left as humanity does what it always does when a major crisis occurs - over a period of time, acceptance creeps in, and life starts to return to normal.

A vaccine will send that process into warp drive, and ideally, by this time next year, Covid 19 will be something humanity lives with, like flu and Michael McIntyre - not ideal, but we can get past it.
