I rented a petrol lawn mower from H.S.S. and had to pay a deposit of
£40 the rent for the mower was £22 including V.A.T. I was assured that the balance of £18 would be credited back to me yesterday I phoned the local branch of H.S.S. and was told that the refund would be paid today I have checked my on line account no credit has been paid. has anyone had problems
with H.S.S. ?
I'd wait a bit longer. Maybe ring if it's not in tomorrow. Was the refund to a credit card or debit card as some of my transactions take a few days to appear.
Because of the way this is written I may have misunderstood the timings- I'd read it as "would be credited to me yesterday" buy maybe you meant "... would be credited to me. Yesterday I phoned..."

the company was no help at all I would advise any body wanting to hire anything to give this outfit some space.
I will contact Trading Standards tomorrow if the money is not returned by then.
It's quite common for transfers between a company and an individual to take up to five working days - different banks have different processes and they can take some time.
Give it until Friday, then enquire again, but be calm, remember it never helps to upset someone whose co-operation you need.
