Prescription Error

Hi

I collected a prescription yesterday and started the medication.

Have been ill all day and very drowsy but assumed it was a new drug to me and it would settle.

Still feel off tonight and due next dose, checked the box and the dosage information is incorrect so I've been taking double the dose I should have.

Besides complaining to the pharmacy itself is there a governing body of similar I could complain to?

let them handle it
see what the complaint answer is
and decide
if they say - we have ensured this cant happen again
then OK

if a skool leaver rings you and says "ay dunno ay really doan! foo dat OK den" and rings off then take it further

and it is General Pharmaceutical COuncil

very like the GMC - love hanging people to show how good they are innocent or guilty and then ringing the ministry and screaming ( they always scream )
where are our knighthoods where are out pensions ?

I gave a paracetamol to an artisaaaaaan wivva head ache. and he said - - god do you have to read the label still?
and I thought -fort I mean - "christ are you absolutely crazy?"

Indeed the box says 28 twice a day. I assumed that it was a typo and took two twice a day.

As said previously anyone with any sense wouldn't take 28 twice a day.

GP did not tell me the dosage over the phone as we got cut off, call was at the end of the day and in the end she text me to tell me my prescription would be sent to the pharmacy for collection.

You cant really blame the pharmacy that you took too much as you made up your own dose! If it was obvious the pharmacy had mislabelled it why didnt you read the insert before you decided that 28 actually meant 2? Or called the pharmacy. That would have been the sensible thing. Anyway glad you're ok

the Rx wd have said somewhere - mitte 28 or send 28 and that is the number of tabs
a months supply

- I dont think this is a dosage error - mislabelling
ask the and show the pharmacy
and ask them to be more careful
