Real vs it’s “normal” flu
Man made vs naturally occurring
Extremely dangerous / contagious vs overblown hype?

One doesn't need to explain the dead people. Do you not realise that viruses can kill, and many viruses do ? Always have. Hmm you're not the first nor the last to raise this matter but I can tell you that I've been at the sharp end of research into SARS-CoV-2 in recent months and I can assure you it's real, contagious and extremely dangerous for certain sectors of the population.

In the UK, we remain at the forefront of research into the virus.

Well I am taking it as a real threat to my health, I would not last 5 mins if I caught covid. I may end up shielding till its my time to go which is a shame because you don't miss things until you cannot do them any more .
