Looking at the available figures, in Europe only Italy has a higher death rate from Covid19 than does the UK. As already pointed out, other countries have a high testing ratio but they also have better health care systems so it is perhaps not simply a higher rate of testing that makes the difference, although they clearly gain an advantage by monitoring and...

no, how would that help?
Oops, quite correct, I overlooked Spain. Apologies for the inaccuracy.
If we're not testing in the UK now, how will we know the number of confirmed cases?
Theland. I don't know whether you said it for sympathy or attention but if your granddaughter hasn't been tested why come on here and tell everyone she had it?

anybody changed their mind ?
Karl- did I read that correctly? Are you saying other countries in Europe have better healthcare systems than the UK has? Really? How do you measure that?
Jesus Christ, the inability to think that some people have beggars belief.

There's 65,000,000 people in this country - how do you propose this will be achieved?

We need to be clear about whether we are talking about testing for whether we have Covid or whether we have the antibodies because we've already had it. I think these are two separate tests. We need to prioritise testing but ideally we can test everyone asap
There are probably a lot of people who have the virus and don’t know they have it, and there will also be a lot who think they have the virus but don’t. Children get several colds a year, some medical sites say the average is between 6 and 10, and adults under 60 average between 2 and 4. If you are over 60, like me, you are lucky in that you should average less than 1 per year. All that means that quite a lot of people will at this moment be suffering from a cold, and a lot of them will no doubt think it is the virus. If I had a cold right now, I would be worried it was the virus, just human nature.
