Following on from the last post on the above, if a husband and wife have a joint account and one of them needs to go into care - is half the money given to the care home, bearing in mind they do have savings of over £16,000.
Money is never "given to the care home" if someone has over the allowed amount they will need to self fund until their resources are under the allowed amount.
