Late 60`s Music

Being trying for months & months to find an INSTRUMENTAL version of `Cry Baby Cry` ( was covered later by the Beatles with lyrics ) . First listened to in Newquay around 1970. Who is the artist ?

This song (with words) was written by John Lennon of the Beatles and was issued on the Beatles White album in 1968.

So it was not the Beatles who covered the song later with lyrics but the instrumental was a cover without lyrics.

Not sure who the instrumental was done by though.

Was it a hit single?

What musical style was it in (guitar, organ, rock, folk etc) ?
