i have just screwed light switch cover on and screwed through the wire now my light upstairs dont work any ideas of how to fix

Redo wiring on light switch cover so you don't screw through it

Replace fuse/reset trip switch on the circuit you have blown

Because you do not know why your light does not work after you nearly killed yourselfe I think you should get an electrician in to fix it!

to whomever answered above i have now called my in law in and he looked at the junction box the trip switch for upstairs lights has been wired into the mains and not to the trip that is y all lights out. had to be rewired and still not found the fault coming back next week with his tools
