Intenet Access On Dell Using Windows 10

Hi all,

I've got a Dell Latitude running Windows 10. I use either my or my partners phone as a WiFi hotspot.
I've had no problems at all, until about a fortnight ago, when the internet connection became intermittant.
In the morning, it is usually ok, but afternoon and evening it rarely connects to the internet.
Since the internet works on my old laptop, and my partners tablet, there is clearly nothing wrong with the WiFi,
but something is wrong with (I presume) the settings on my laptop. Why, I don't know, but I would like to know
how to get it back to normal.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance.

do an internet speed check on an ok device and the slow one, have you added any software recently.

Not that I can think of.
Even though there's "clearly nothing wrong with the WiFi", it's still worth power-cycling your router/phone to see if it helps. ('Power cycling' is just a posh term for 'turn it off and turn it on again'!). It often seems to fix such issues.

If that doesn't help, the next thing I'd try is resetting the TCP/IPstack. (Don't worry, it's a lot easier than it sound!). There are several possible methods but this one is as good as any other:

(NB: Note that there's a space between 'ipconfig' and '/' on each of the last three lines).

It's also worth considering if anything could be interfering with the wifi signal, such as your next door neighbour turning his telly on in the afternoon. (Try relocating the phone providing the hotspot and/or the computer)
Good advice as always Chris, at the moment having to reboot my pc and router almost daily, heard some banging yesterday so don't know what neighbours have been up to, will ask them when I see them.
