Religions almost all preach peace, right up to the shout of 'Charge!' Fighting in the name of a god who loves everybody. Certifiable the lot of them.

TTT, The bible, a collection of stories written by men and, hence open to interpretation, I regard overall as an often inaccurate history of the Jewish people and their relationship with God.
The word ‘Islam’ means ‘Submission’ and that is what the Koran, allegedly the direct word of God and, hence immutable, is all about. The Koran, together with the Hadith (a revered record of the sayings of Mohammed) and other associated literature instructs the faithful in every aspect of life - even to going to the toilet. Islam is not simply a religion - it is a complete way of life. Total submission to the will of Allah. Peppered with the phrase, ‘Allah knows best’, the Koran commands men to ‘fight in the way of Allah’ and gives some pretty gruesome instructions. The Koran also urges the expansion of the religion - something the Old Testament doesn’t do because unlike Islam, Judaism doesn’t seek to convert and never has.
In my opinion, in constructing his book - a task that took him something like 22 years - Mohammed hijacked both Judaism and Christianity. He is claimed to have received the final revelation - the Koran - directly from God via an angel, and to be the last of the prophets.
I hope that answers your question.

Naomi 17:42, thanks for that and apologies for not getting back sooner. Yes of course you are correct. When I said they are the same I really meant that pretty much anything in one is in the other in one form or another. Of course there are differences of the nature you point out, I was merely saying that the effect and intent is pretty well equivalent.
