Shame
Six year old Mary comes home from school, and says that she had her first family planning lesson at school.
Her mother asked how it went.
“I nearly died of shame,” she answered.
“John from down our street said that the stork brings babies.”
“Lucy next door said you can buy babies from the orphanage, and Raymond in my class says you buy them at the hospital.”
Her mother laughs, “that is no reason to be ashamed.”
“No, but I can’t tell them that we were so poor, that you and daddy had to make me yourselves.”
