//..It's not the best pop single in my view - that's Walk On By by Dionne Warwick, //

Crikey , AH , we have something in common .
I love Dionne Warwick
Good voice, but she clearly doesn’t know the way to San Jose
The man has a great voice.
Brilliant!
That's ironic Andy, as I'm a massive fan of Neil Hannon, and Lady of a Certain Age is not one of the songs I'd rate in even a top ten of his best.

Proof, if any were needed, of how subjective musical taste is.
Wow mamya!
Smowball, which singer would you most like to have a few drinks with?
Another of my favourites is Karen Carpenter .

Such a unique , effortless and melodic voice .

Here's how to open a gig in style ;-)

Could do with some strings in there , Chris
If you want a truly great vocal... https://youtu.be/w9qsDgA1q8Y
Ah the lovely Linda.

Fantastic!!!!
Sadly, both Neil and Linda now have Parkinson’s Disease
Most concerts intros made my hair stand on end (when a still had some) when the first notes start and everyone cheers as we reconise the tune. Others may probly come to mind but one that springs to mind is Blondie- it was dark and quiet as we awaited there entrance. There was some shuffling around on the dark stage and then a stunning Debbie Harry exploded into light & sound screaming "Am in the phone booth its the one across the hall..." and off she went and the band went into Hanging on The Telephone.
Remember going to see Neil Diamond many years ago at the Manchester Arena. One of the neighbours heard me saying to his wife that I was ordering tickets and asked me on the quiet if I could get him a couple but not to tell his wife as it was going to be a surprise. The concert was about 9 months away and in that time we moved house and I forgot all about him. On the night Mr BD couldn't go, our daughter didn't want to go but her boyfriend, who was a part-time DJ and loved any type of music, said he would go with me so off we went. Don't know who was more surprised when we got there - me seeing the old neighbour who was getting all kissy kissy and snuggling up to another ex neighbour (certainly not his wife), or him seeing me with a six foot tall, drop dead gorgeous black guy. Oh that was a fun evening. Well I enjoyed it as I thought it was hilarious.
Was lucky enough to see Neil Diamond on his last tour. Had a fabulous night at the SECC Hydro.
