Am I correct in thinking that after covid is confirmed the affected person is contagious for 2 weeks?

I get so confused with all the differing advice.

Ah ty all. Yeah my own thoughts were that he’d be fine. He isn’t showing any symptoms other than fatigue. But your answers will help alleviate my colleagues fears. I will also ask him if he’s had a neg test since.

On the note about fatigue.... everyone is talking bout long covid however with “normal” flu ongoing fatigue is not unheard of! So why ty big hullabaloo.
I would still record the fact you asked about the symptoms listed.

At my former employers (DWP) we had a standard checklist to go through when someone first reported being unfit for work.

We then had a Welcome Back Discussion when they returnt to work and again, that had a standard format to ensure certain areas had been discussed.

I would say it's better to ask one or two more questions for confirmation of his condition.

You can then reassure anyone who is concerned about the risks that you have acted reasonably in the circumstances.
Eve long covid seems to be worse than general post viral fatigue, and of longer duration. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/long-term-effects.html
