This never happened before I had to pay for MS annually for Word.

Some time ago I composed a doc, used an old Word one and edited it. It remained in Word. But by choosing New, the doc disappears. Not sure, but it eventually turned up in Edge or whatever.

if you didn't move it it should have stayed where it was. Can you do a search with its name?

It was quite a long letter and I re wrote it twice as I was unable to find the doc by using Search Windows (C:-). Then it turned up unexpectedly.
so what are you asking? you've found it now?
if you use Open Office or Libre Office, they do much the same as Word and they're free.
anyway check your temp folder - there may be a version in there

Too late jno!. at the end of November I was without BB for 8 days while I switched from BT to Sky. As luck would have it, my Word sub expired at the same time and everything was locked up, so it was a rush to get going as soon as the phone line was properly connected. It didn't connect as expected.

Weekdays you can wait up to an hour to get through to Sky Help line and at weekends it becomes cruel.

"As a valued customer we are going to give you special help",
"What is the problem".
"No BB".
"We are going to send you a text".
Text arrives, saying, "Go online to our site ..."

I found two other numbers including the one I signed up on, but both switched thro to the same useless message. So I got hold of another one.

"Cancellations Dept".
I explained that I could get no Help, and the guy was very helpful and transferred me to a different department. Equally good treatment and the problem was solved.

two issues - you can still get Word on regular purchase rather than continuous payments. Secondly when you save a document dont you stick it in an appropriately named sub folder off the main documents folder. Depending on the version of Word you use any file can be found, if misplaced, by searching in Windows Explorer for either *.doc or *.docx which will find any file ending in those extensions.

Thanks for that CrapatCryptic. I shall use Open or Libre Office ... from December next year.
