Royal Mail delivered a letter today from Battersea to "Animal Lover" at our address so probably a mass mailing thing. The letter asked if we could send just £5 to buy a bed for a pet. Not much to ask maybe but why did the letter also contain a free pen, a 14 page hang-up calendar, a sheet of fancy wrapping paper, a sheet of printed labels with our address on, a card to write on to send good wishes back to Battersea and a prepaid envelope. They can have them back. What a waste.

The BDH doesn't exactly give the impression of being short of money, so why the request for £5? My guess is that they just wanted your name and address for future begging letters.
