For once he would be right to stop the Christmas free-for-all. He might then come across to more people as a leader.

^^ wish I was a Polar Bear..good long kip and wake up skinny !
some MInty will stick by the rules, some may not. Whether that is in Sotland, or elsewhere. You can;t check on peoples homes, where they may have more than the required number of visitors.
by and large..with the exception of students..GGGRRR... most folk are observing the rules here
no one can police this, not anywhere. I feel for anyone not able to see family, and also those businesses in mostly hospitalty who are going to fold.
I can see strong arm tactics in London in the future..those of us of a "certain age" will remember the water cannons bought and deployed by Ken Livingstone some time back to deal with public disorder....was it Council Tax palaver ? many moons ago... it is all beginning to smack of "28 days/months later "
we have 65 million or more people that live in UK, with the problem of visitors coming in until we get a handle on vaccination, then this is going to stay for a long time to come. TTT offering was that people will be vacinated by Easter, just not feasible. The scientists reckon another year.
those on the streets are mostly shoppers seemingly, not demonstrators, though we have seen that too - with some like Piers Corbyn actively encouraging people to not wear face masks, and denial that the covid 19 actually exists.
He was fined for one demo 10,000 grand, whether thats paid who knows.

Emmie - please stop twisting what I have said. I don't think Boris will do a U-turn because he's too damn stubborn but I said that he should, The article to which you refer says that 57% of the population think the easing over Christmas should be scrapped. Only 31% in favour of keeping the free-for-all and the rest "unsure" (how you can be unsure about something like this I fail to understand)
wether you think he should or not for the time being its staying as it is.
TO THE TOWER ! LOL ... human nature as it is makes all of the above problematic..is ever so
human being aren;t sheep. They don't all follow the same path.
Even if you called out the army and that was one suggestion though NJ responded on that one as just not remotely possible due to manpower.
If Boris makes ten u turns it won't make a halfpenny worth of difference to some, perhaps many. They will follow their own way.
it is problematic Minty, and it ain;t going go away any day soon
