Always.
David, I'm fuming as well.
trying hard not to cry to be honest.
A lot of us are angry and upset and despairing of it never ending, me included, but there's very little we can do. It has been a horrible time and one I never thought I'd ever have to live through. I really don't know what else to say.
Look just 2 more days and if you have move by Tuesday we will work it out with a pencil ..
I'm also fuming and very unhappy, every damned time this year we have had arrangements in place to see my daughter when we were allowed it has been stopped almost last minute. I also know it's a minor problem alongside the emotional one but we can't be the only house full of food, drink and presents for people who now can't come. It's wicked, many will have scrimped, saved or gone into debt to end up in the same situation.
i like many will spend it alone, i have a food order coming on the 22nd to tide me over. I would swap all that for some quality time with my family who live 70 odd miles away and are in their own little bubble.
many will indeed have scrimped and saved, but not sure what the answer is to be honest.
The answer is possibly:
1. Not told us about the Xmas 5 days in the first place (that would be "inhuman" to then cancel)
or
2. Not cancel it at the the 11th hour.
To "monitor the situation " and "fools rush in where angels fear to tread " are aphorisms that I have tried to live up to throughout my professional life. If it works you are a hero, if it doesn't then you are a villain and in this case it hasn't worked when formulating a change of policy to the new threat or a Covid variant.
It is what it is and we are where, we are.
Or accept that governments can get it wrong and seeing sense at the last minute showed a desire to do what was right rather than what was popular. I was always going to be on my own but that was because I couldn't face Christmas pretending to have fun, I think 60 years of that is long enough. It's not like years gone by, we have phones, we have electronic face to face, it's not like we have to rely on letters. It's different this year, it may not be back to normal completely by next but instead of getting angry remember you were going to visit them so you are still alive and so are they. you are winning even though it doesn't feel like it.
Are you ok?so what are you going to do?
We don't know you, and you only show a side that doesn't bring out the caring nature of many here. Yesterday I was in a bad place they picked me up, if you are overwhelmed the hands are there. ignore the fundamentalist Christians they mostly just support each other. tell us the real problem.
Is it you that lives on the Isle of Wight, tier 1?
Apologies if I have the wrong person.
