First of all, it's wrong to suggest that I've ever supported violent protestors, whatever their motivation. Secondly, I don't think there's even a legitimate equivalence between the Kavanaugh protests and what went down last week. Back then, people didn't break into the building in tactical gear, didn't plant pipe bombs, didn't have plastic handcuffs, didn't break into and steal from senior offices, hadn't set up a mock gallows and screamed "hang Mike Pence", etc. There is no comparison.
Thirdly, and most importantly, what even is to be gained from making such a comparison? Supposing that Spicerack were after all correct to draw the comparison, all that proves is that everybody was wrong; and yet it's clear that the argument is being used not to condemn the previous protests but to condone the most recent incidents. It's pure and simple "what-about"ism, and barely worthy even of this token reply. What happened last week should be unequivocally condemned.
