Does your phone 'see' your home wi-fi network (as well as those of your neighbours), Henry? Are you absolutely sure that, when you try to connect to that network, you're using the correct password (which is probably indicated somewhere on your router and/or with the paperwork that came with it)? Are you taking care to use upper/lowers case letters, as required, when you enter your password?

Try using the WPS button on the router instead of the password
