Having A Jab

not the usual covid discussion, but been wondering how those people who have a fear of needles are feeling every time they turn the tv on and see people having a needle stuck in their arm? Obviously if watching the news it is to be expected but it seems to pop up on so many different programmes. Personally I've never minded having a jab but knew someone who almost passed out at the sight of a needle.

the sight of needles - do they go "oh my god needles o no o no, I wd rather have my brains sucked out froo my ear holes than a needle no no not that!" [ screams ] and then runs to toiet and vomits

or do they go: o I have seen needles so many times that I can to to a clinic now....

or do they say - - I am unchanged?

and surprise surprise the work has been done - all three in about the same proportion

but if the question is: this is a typical AB question that I know no one can answer before I ask it, but I will anyway and then slig off anyone who tries....

then my answer is: I will have to think about that one

[ this is also why counselling cant be shown to work - a lot say that talking therapy helps and a very few scream loudly and say it has got much mcuh worse]

I don't see why we have to be shown people having injections. We don't see people getting their flu jabs in front of a camera, or hear people saying how excited they are to have had it. We all know what an injection is.

peter, i dunno what post you are reading but the one i read is asking abers who are frightened of needles how they feel every time they see one on the TV. Any aber with a fear of needles could answer. as proved by mm

I should imagine for anyone who is needle phobic it will be unsettling,yes.

I used to get in a state about jabs, less so now.

Nor do I. Nor do I believe we should be shown footage from inside ICUs of patients being turned and others tee'd up to all sorts of machinery attended by health staff who are seemingly run off their feet. Especially when some of it seems "library" footage repeated daily. But it's all part of the government's strategy of grinding the population into submitting to their "guidance."

It must be awful for folk scared of needles, for oneself without coming across as bravdo I am just like 'Yeah sure jab it in my arm, get on with it.'

Personally I'd rather have a jab than go to the hairdressers!

I'm not a great fan of needles, but if needs must so be it, watch my partner inject herself with insulin every day. My classic experience was when I had my last tetanus update injection, explained to nurse my phobia, where did she sit me, directly in front of a mirror! Seem ok now no problems or anxiety with flu jab.

I find it's a lot easier if you avoid looking at the needle.

I'm ok watching it on the TV, but it would be a different matter if I was in the room. Don't like receiving jabs - will have it if they send for me though.
