Hi all.I am hopefully moving house in a few months and I will be moving 130 miles. We have 2 cats - mother and daughter,3 yrs and 1 yr.I have read that they should not be let out of the new house for 2 weeks, and a litter tray kept indoors. My question is this - how will I get them to use the litter tray when they haven't had one since they were kittens, and if they do manage to use it,how will I then make them go outside after getting them used to it?? I really dont want to keep a litter tray long term. Many thanks in advance.x
Don't worry. It's like second nature to them. They will know exactly what the litter is for and will start going outside again as soon as it is taken away from them.
Good idea, In A Pickle, we have 4 cats and also foster for Cats Protection. In the winter we always ensure that our cats have a litter tray available, even if only one of them uses it. Luckily there are lots of cat owners around us and we are a tolerant lot.
Our cats have done several long distance trips, 230 miles for removal and after the first day we took them round the garden on a lead with buttered paws, they never ran away but we have very people orientated cats
