One dead and 9 injured in 'abhorrent' spate of stabbings in South London.

One man was stabbed to death and several others injured in what police described as a night of “abhorrent” violence in south London.

The Metropolitan Police enacted additional stop and search powers after the man was killed and nine others injured during the spate of knife attacks around Croydon.

Sounds like a very dangerous place to live. What on earth is happening in our society?

no idea what prompts people to do this, unless drugs are involved.
seems from the report that these are isolated incidents, but all in one night, in the same area, seems a coincidence, but im sure we will get updates, as we go along....
More promising footballers and musicians I expect.

no different to any other large city - Glasgow, for example, is blessed with a generous population of "neds"......

Doesn't surprise me in that part of Croydon. 5 minute drive from where I used to live and not a very nice area.
mushroom that was from June 2020. Got anything more recent?
Is this proof that parts of the UK are rapidly turning into the likes of a third world Country, and people will be afraid to go out after dark.

Yes Choux, that was very sad. Mother and daughter targeted then the perpetrator kills himself. Sometimes motives are difficult to fathom.
choux that's a different thing altogether I think. maggie is pointing out the random violence that is going on in the streets .

Born in Woolwich, grew up in Charlton, then Lewisham and then Catford.

Still have mates in SE London and we see each other regularly when allowed.

I have never felt threatened or scared, have never experienced any violence, and would never fear being out at night - I still consider SE London as home.

What happened to society? 24/7 news is what happened.
I spent the first 21 yrs of my life growing up in Old Trafford/ Stretford , but I wouldn't want to live there now. What on earth are people doing with grenades and guns in their properties?
I can remember when a murder or severe assault was huge news in the '50s - now these things seem to be commonplace. I also ask what is happening - and don't say deprivation - we were all pretty deprived then. Thank goodness I don't live anywhere near London.
There are still a few lovely parts of London to live in, mostly in the West.
