Absolutely right about Cherisse Osei! She is a powerhouse drummer, and a force of nature. I was prompted to check out The Faders - who have a disappointingly small catalogue, and not even one chart entry, but I bought everything I could find, and loved the video for Jump - but you mentioned that she played the drums for Mika, and I did see some of his videos in which she appeared, and was very impressed with her power and energy. But also, surprised by her vocal contributions to the song Lollipop, where here cutesie-pie voice seemed at odds with her tough girl image on the drums. And yes, I also spotted her with Bryan Ferry in a couple of places. Didn't know about the Simple Minds link-up, though, so I'll have to watch out for that.
I believe she is distantly related to Teddy Osei, who was trumpeter with Osibisa - though I can't verify that one, and I know it's a pretty common surname in Nigeria.
You're so lucky to have got to have a certain rapport and a long-lasting friendship with her. I wish!!
