I couldn’t get to my local shops to buy some wrapping paper I needed, so my neighbour offered to go for me, which she did. Much appreciated as I’d have been stuck without it. She wouldn’t take the money for it, so I’ve just baked her a loaf of bread and taken it round, still warm. Her face was an absolute picture. Made my day x

You're right, it's often the smallest of everyday gestures that cheer us the most.

One of my neighbours takes my rubbish and/or mail out on his way to work - when I bought him a bottle at Christmas he was thrilled and almost wouldn't accept it.
What a wonderful story smowy, thank you for sharing.
My colleague had some very sad news today so I called him and we chatted for a bit. He felt a bit better after talking although it won't take his sadness away.

Aww, so sad, Tiggs. You done only what you could, and gave a compassionate, listening ear.
