The engine in the R32 is the same 15degree V block as in the 2.8 VR6 Golf and 2.9 Corrado. However, the limit this block can be bored out to, (according to VW at the time), was 3.0l. In the R32, special new T-section pistons have been used to avoid a clash of piston skirts when both the bore and stroke have been increased to get the required capacity. As ever, I would think the cost of this work would be prohibitive compared to just buying a R32in the first place, as your Corrado lacks the Haldex clutch, ESP and 4WD of the R32 that makes the thing pleasant to drive. The 2.9l VR6 motor in the Corrado is a great thing as it is and suits the car just fine.
