...........yesterday on our street - children playing out! Honest! We've not had children playing out on our street for years. I think they were visiting someone as I didn't recognize them. At one time it was said that children should be seen and not heard. That happens a lot now due to i-pads, i-phones etc. Now people want them outside making a noise!
There are often children playing out by me. My neighbourhood is a mix of houses and flats...private and council. More so in warmer weather...but they are out there!
i suppose people could be nosy busybodies and call the police?
my daughter's headmaster never misses the opportunity to remind us not to let the kids meet up outside of school. In my town, the police occasionally comb the park in the evnings to break up groups of children
Just been for a walk with the dog and coming back thru the village there were mums and kids everywhere. One fell over and started crying and two more were arguing over whose go it was on the scooter LOL.
When I read the post title I thought this was gong to be about the mysterious but very loud explosive rumbling felt over Dorset and other areas of the South West yesterday afternoon. It stopped me in my tracks. Latest suggestion is it was some kind of meteor passing over.
We are in lockdown but the kids can meet up outside. On weekends they either walk to their cousins house or cousins walk here 15 mins each way across fields. We are allowed to meet up outside for exercise
We're not very far from the local primary school - it has been wonderful to hear the children playing-out at breaks and lunchtime. Made us feel so much better.
I love to hear children playing. Mainly older people on our Close, but there are two now, and I love to hear them. We spent most of our childhood out of doors, and nobody complained of the noise.
I doubt everyone wants them making a noise. In my day kids didn't have parents that let them go around screaming, and excusing it by thinking, "It's what kids do". It's what kids who have inadequate parents do. They can go play nicely out somewhere if they behave.
