I don't remember casuals at all, and surely townies is a north eastern phrase or maybe I just have a weak memory. And yes fluff thats shocking but again are we saying charvers are all youth if they have a bad attitude or because we lot are over 30 we have lost track with what they call themselves, my son is a goth (looks like Rosies boyfriend in Corrie) and I admit he is no trouble (nearly 17) but I don't like the "devil" posters and the slithering walks its like watching Michael Jacksons Thriller lol

at my daughters school, (she's 14), most kids seem to be labeled chav or greb!
don't really know what a greb is!!
my daughter has put herself in the chav catergory as she says she is definately NOT a greb.
she does wear big hooped earrings but only wears her hair in a ponytail sometimes.
she is not a chav in the sense of burberry, bling or uneducated.
she is extremely bright and in the top sets at school. she is determined to go to university and actually do something constructive with her life.i don't think it matters whether you call yourself a chav, greb or goth. kids just want to feel that they 'belong'.

Serioutsly when I met my hubbie about 3-4 years ago he was 38 and said he was 37 (I was 31), and drove a souped up saxo with black tights over the rear lights, talk about nearly running for my life, a far cry from our lives today lol
