If you really feel sad about leaving the house do you have to? I cope with change quite well, but understand the sadness felt at leaving. Maybe see it as a new adventure, or don't move at all..
Awww crete ~ it's just part of life, lovey. it's a bit like your child starting school, or leaving school..a new era that brings mixed feelings.
I believe you can take your memories with you. They are, after all, in your head & heart. Do you feel as if you are betraying someone when you leave your house? the only other thing I can add is that when you settle in your new home you will be all set to create new memories for the future :o)

Its bound to hold so many memories, especially the ones you have pointed out, but its also very exciting and a new challenge to move somewhere else and put your own stamp on it.
Just don't be like my mum & dad, they,ve moved 9 times {again on the 22/9} in 15 years, and i thought moving was meant to be STRESSFUL

In nearly 35 years of marriage we have moved 15 times ..mind you a lot of it was rented property abroad when Mr.S .was working. We lived in our last house for twenty years ..the longest anywhere and I was sad to leave .It wasn't just the house ..it was my friends ,neighbours and environment I was leaving to move 250 miles to downsize. We haven't downsized in terms of size of house exactly but in our way of life.
I just ran out of the door sobbing buckets !! But...you soon settle down again ..it all takes time .I hated where we are now at first ..although I was brought up here as a child and have family here but have gradually come to accept it ,made new friends and put my stamp on the house. It is only bricks and mortar after all .It's what is in it that is important.
All the best ..I am sure everything will work out OK for you.

Maybe it's because we don't have children, or because we've only been in this house 9 years (3rd house in 20-year marriage), but this house to me is just a place to hang our hats. Sure, I want it to look nice and well maintained - and it's quite a showplace - but I don't love it. I love the stuff that happens inside it, and the people that come and go, but the happenings and the people aren't house-dependent. I figure as long as that's the case, anyplace with the ones you love, and with adequate loo facilities, is home for me.
We hold the memories. The house just holds the stuff.
