Yet again, when I criticise Boris - his ardent supporters point out that they would rather have him as our leader than some other useless person.

Even before Boris entered politics, he demonstrated that he is not the sort of person who should be placed in charge of the stationery cupboard – let alone the country.

But his supporters seem willing to overlook anything he does, rather like the Trump supporters in the USA.

He won an 80-seat majority, he got Brexit done. Had it not been for Covid who knows what other great things he might have done.
