Is it possible to microwave popcorn kernals in the microwave? If so how? Any ideas for low fat flavourings?

Or you could cheat and buy the boxed ones from the crisp aisle, comes in packets of 3....you just pop one of the packets in the microwave and 3 minutes later you've got gorgeous pop-corn. They do 'em in both salty and sweet.


Then..........when ready, you fill a big bowl and open up the Body & Soul category and settle down for compulsive watching of the bickering which almost always happens at the weekend.

You need to put the kernals in a paper bag. It will be a case of trial and error as to how long they take. Try a few first as they swell that much.
i usually sprinkle with icing sugar
I've always used the packet ones and I like sweet and savoury. For savoury I have added a tablespoon of margarine melted in a seperate dish in microwave and then poured into the bag and shaken up a little. the most low-fat way is not to add anything to them but I can't quite manage that and have added a couple of squirts of honey or maple syrup when I wanted a sugar fix
