Thanks for the great advice, now i know not to leave him outside as punishment, you pick up terrible ways from other people and family members who tell you it's the only way. I do blame myself too as i should have looked into it more before i got him, i naiively believed trainiing would take only a week or 2!! So now i'm in trouble, i work in the mornings from 9 - 1, my partner is at home at these times, his only interest is playing video games and he doesnt like leaving gizmo wonder around the house just keeps him confined to the kitchen, he tells me he's getting irritated by the mess gizmo keeps making but i know myself he wont even let the back door open for him so if gizmo does decide to go outside he can't anyway, when im'm at home and i see gizmo go outside and do his business i praise him loads, but because of me being away it's like anything he learns gets reversed.
So yes I will get those pads for sure, and is there anything else I should be doing say at night time when I go to bed and he is left to himself.
One person mentioned straight after mealtimes also, this was grand at the beginning because he would eat and i'd bring him out for 10 min - 15 mins for him to go. But his mealtimes aint set no more, he refuses to eat the food when it's out until late at night when he knows he won't be getting anything else. This is frustrating me , and ll because someone gave him chicken!!!!!
