Police Contact Card?

Hi! On Friday, I received a contact card from the police, with a phone number, name and a message to say call the number. I called the number and the PC said it was for a talk. I have no clue what it could be about. There isn't an incident reference number on it. I called yesterday to clarify that she is coming to my home, and she says it's just for a talk, but not what about. As mentioned, I have no idea what it's about. What does the police do when they say it's 'just for a talk'? Has anyone been in this situation before?

Phone 101 and ask to be put through to the police officer so you can be sure everything is genuine. So many scammers about these days

Have any of the neighbours made a complaint against you?

make sure you have someone else present
preferably taking notes
or record it
bear in mind it is your house so you can tell them to leave whenever and you dont have to answer - it is your house and so your rules

it is a complaint and they want an informal resolution

Make sure you keep to facts. Dont relay gossip.
It will be in the form - "so and so has said X - we want to know your side"
you are not reqd to refute X even if asked to

the number on the card should be the local nick central switch
scammers dont usualy say that they will around in 48 h to continue the scam

Your default assumption should be that it's a scam; I've had two in the last year. Tell them that you've been scammed before (just to make them lick their lips) then ask for their name; ask for their number (not phone number, but shoulder tag number); ask what police station they operate from; ask for their rank, and which section they work in; then say "OMG, you must know old Frosty! How's the old b***r getting on?" If they threaten that they might send an officer around to interview you, say OK and ask when that might be convenient. Just when they are thinking they may have hooked you, tell them that in view of your previous scam you are nervous..... Hang up whenever you like during the previous routine.

Would be wary of this. Say you prefer to come in to the station for a chat rather than them turn up at your door. Or, as has already been mentioned, make sure you have someone with you and ask for identity card.
