...what the best way is to post paintings? how should i package them?? how much does it usually cost?? should i bung a 'fragile' label on them?? any help would be much appreciated!

depending on the size. you could send them in a sturdy tube or if they are smaller you can get these card backed envelopes. as for the price, not sure as royal mail just changed the price structure.

I received mine(already stretched on a frame) in a rectangular box of narrow depth but dispatched by courier.
May I suggest that you get onto any of the UK on-line art shops and send them an email with you question.

Are the painting valuable? If so, I'd recommend a company such as cArt. They have handled many valuable works by artists such as Carl Andre and Tracey Emin. They specialise in moving exhibitions and sculptures between galleries.

I know a few of the folks that work there and can post a number if it's the kind of thing you're looking for.

Thank you for the recommendation Gandy, but the paintings aren't valuable - just some of my own work that I'm thinking of selling on ebay ;)

Hi There,
You do not state the composition of the Paintings,
Are they Oil, Watercolours Etc. If watercolurs they can be rolled and put in a Tube, If they are Oil Paintings they need to be left flat to avoid any cracking or damage.
