Cat In Litter Tray

Cat very rarely uses little tray, sometimes during the night. Today she has come in twice from the garden, gone straight into the tray and just sat in it ! Not done anything in there , why is this? Six years old, eating well.

Keep her in and see if she is peeing normally at other times. If she doesn't for 24 hour ask your vet for advice

Follow her into the garden and see if she pees and if she does miaows loudly. Could be kidney stones. Is she digging in litter box or just sitting

Funnily enough thinking about it, she did a large wee In the litter tray overnight a couple of nights ago, and another about a week ago, she sleeps in the kitchen and the litter tray is always there for her. But before this, it was quite rare for her to use it at all. She is kept in overnight from around 10pm to 8am. After sitting in the tray the first time today she seemed to have covered something up but there was nothing there, the second time she just sat in it. She didn’t make a sound. When she goes in the garden, I have no idea where she pees or poos!
